Energy Giant Gazprom to Start Gas Exports to Italy
Gazprom, Russia's largest company and the world's largest natural gas producer, is resuming gas exports to Italy via Austria.
Russian energy giant Gazprom has announced that it will resume gas exports to Italy via Austria.
The announcement said that the company and its Italian customers have found a solution to gas sales following regulatory changes in Austria. An official statement from the Italian energy company ENI on the start of gas flow.
On October 1, ENI announced that gas flow from Russian energy company Gazprom had stopped.
In a written statement made by Eni,
"Gazprom stated that gas flow through Austria is not possible. Therefore, there will be no Russian gas supply to ENI via the Tarvisio entry point. ENI will be updated in case gas supply is ensured."
