EPDK Made A Statement About Electricity Bills
EPDK made a statement about electricity bills. EPDK made a statement against the claims that electricity bills are high. EPDK said that there is no hidden price increase.
In the statement,
EPDK said, "There is no increase in the distribution price or tax rates, other than the rate determined by our institution, in the items that make up the electricity bill, and there is no hidden increase."
Reminding that there has been a 15% increase in final electricity sales prices for all subscriber groups, effective as of July 1, 2021, due to the cost increases in electricity generation, the statement said, “In this context, residential subscribers pay 91.56 TL for 100 kilowatt-hours of electricity, including taxes and funds.
First of all, it should be emphasized that the pricing in question is valid for all of Turkey and all residential subscribers. No distribution or retail company can reflect any price increase on the invoice sent to our citizens, and cannot make any changes in the invoice items.
In addition, the share of distribution companies in electricity bills has been determined in 2020 and is valid throughout the year as of January 1, 2021. There was no increase in this share either. Distribution companies do not have a request from EPDK to increase this share, and it cannot be accepted if such a demand is contrary to the legal regulations.”
No Increase or Hidden Raise
It is stated that the increase in electricity usage, which reaches record levels due to the increase in air temperatures every year, especially in July and August, is also reflected in the
electricity bills. There are no hidden fees.
Citizens should be calm and know that as EPDK, our duty is not only to determine the tariffs, but also to meticulously monitor and audit the correct implementation of these tariffs in the calculation of invoices. In addition, all citizens can check their bills every month from the electricity bill calculation module on the website of our Institution.
