Epic Games Store Lists Its First NFT Game!

Epic Games has launched the first Web3-powered NFT game on its marketplace. According to the statements made, Mythical Games' Blankos party, which has more than one million players, will be launched for the first time. In addition, Epic Games recently announced that it will diversify the market with NFT games.

Mythical Games raised over $150 million through several funding rounds before launching. While the digital asset game had previously targeted the mainstream, Blankos was thinking about the Block party. It aims to work with gaming veterans who have developed franchises such as Guitar Hero, Word of Warcraft, Call of Duty and Skylanders. After launching with an open beta in December 2020, the Web3 NFT-based game title became available on its website. In early June, the company announced that Blankos had amassed over one million users in its multiplayer universe. In June, the studio announced that it would develop the free-to-play title that was fixed on the Epic Games store this year. But it was unclear to both press and users whether this type of game would be the first of its kind to hit the market. Inspired by web designer toy culture, Blankos Block Party allows users to collaborate and play on a colorful virtual platform. The game uses NFTs to represent a unique group of items, including accessories and designs, which can be bought and sold through the game's marketplace. However, NFTs are not a requirement for the game. The game has included brand and artist partners in events since its launch. Mythical Games Becomes the Store's First NFT-Based Game The Epic Games store announced that it had amassed more than 194 million users in 2021. Now, it has invested in Web3 games before its main competitor Valve's Steam marketplace. Valve Steam had previously stated that they would not be able to publish games using crypto and NFTs. In response, Tim Sweeny, founder and CEO of Epic Games, shared a tweet. In the tweet, he explained that the store would welcome games using Blockchain technology. However, 'they must disclose their terms, comply with the law, and be age-rated by the appropriate groups,' he said. The Epic Games store is a virtual store for games running on Microsoft and Mac. The digital-based organization launched the store as an independent launcher and website in 2018. The Blankos Block party runs on the studio's platform built on EOS. It is known as the Io Blockchain protocol. However, it is connected to Ethereum, the leading NFT network. Follow Global Economic Developments on Social Media!
