Vitalik Buterin, received Montenegrin citizenship. According to the news of the state broadcaster RTCG, Buterin was granted citizenship with the proposal of Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić and the initiatives of Minister of Finance and Social Welfare Milojko Spajić.
In the announcement, the ministry said, "Interior Minister Sergej Sekulović accepted the importance of this initiative and decided to accept Vitalik Buterin as Montenegrin citizenship on the proposal of the Prime Minister, and the Montenegrin passport was given to him today."
On the other hand, Spajić announced that Buterin was granted citizenship in his tweet, which he later deleted:
"Today, as an expression of gratitude for everything he has done and will do for our country, I am pleased to present Montenegrin citizenship to Vitalik Buterin. As the most famous name in the industry,
Buterin will contribute to the promotion of Montenegro and the development of the crypto industry in our country."
It is known that Montenegro, which can be listed among the 'crypto-friendly' countries, is preparing a legal framework in order to make the most of this technology and contribute to the growth of its gross domestic product.
