European stock markets closed the day with a decline, except for Italy, due to investors' concerns about a sharp rise in inflation.
European stock markets ended the day with a decline. After the consumer price index in April increased by 4.2 percent in the USA compared to the same period of the previous year, the European stock markets completed the first trading day of the week in Italy, excluding the FTSE MIB 30 index, due to the cautiousness of investors.
Annual inflation in the US reached its highest level since 2008 in April.
The benchmark index Stoxx Europe 600 dropped 0.05 percent at closing on Monday to 442.29 points.
In England, the FTSE 100 index decreased by 0.15 percent to 7,032.85 points, in Germany the DAX 30 index decreased by 0.13 percent to 15,396.62 points, in France, the CAC 40 index decreased by 0.28 percent to 6,367.35 points.
On the other hand, in Italy, the FTSE MIB 30 index increased by 0.39 percent to 24,862.68 points.
