European stocks strengthened significantly, German Dax set a new record
European stock markets strengthened significantly at the beginning of the new week. The key German index exceeded 14,400 points and reached a new record high. The good mood in the markets was supported by the weekend approval of new fiscal stimuli in the US Senate. Investors will also focus on titles that will benefit from the decline of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dax reached 14,402 points on Monday. Finally, it closed trading with a plus of 3.31% to 14,380.91 points.
The main French CAC 40 index rose on Monday by 2.08% to 5902.99 points, the Italian FTSE MIB by 3.12% to 23.681.57 points, the Spanish IBEX 35 by 1.90% to 8444.20 points and the British FTSE 100 by 1.34% to 6719.13 points. The EuroStoxx 50 eurozone blue-chip index rose by 2.55% to 3763.24 points and the STOXX Europe 600 pan-European index by 2.10% to 417.25 points.
Wall Street did not have a clear direction on Monday evening. The key US Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 1.52% at 31,974.99. The broader S&P 500 index rose 0.55% to 3863.13 points. Conversely, the technology Nasdaq Composite fell 0.74% to 12,824.41 points.
