European Union's Additional €500 Million Military Aid Package to Ukraine

Josep Borrell, the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, has announced that the European Union will provide an additional 500 million euros in military aid to Ukraine, which is struggling with the Russian occupation.

"Ministers unanimously agreed on the need to continue to stand firmly with Ukraine and to give Ukraine our full support in its struggle for freedom and independence," said Representative Borrell, adding that the situation in occupied Ukraine is becoming increasingly dire. Noting that Ukraine needs more military aid and weapons, Josep Borrell added that an additional 500 million euros in aid has been agreed, which will bring the European Union's total military aid to 2.5 billion euros, and that a decision will be taken in the coming days. They cannot end the war overnight, but the sanctions will cause a lot of economic problems for Russia."
