Exoskeleton technology is becoming more common and available

According to one of the world's largest manufacturers of exoskeletons in the world, the Californian company SuitX, exoskeleton technology is becoming more common and available in the real world. The company thus expects exoskeletons to become an increasing trend in the coming years. "Prices of exoskeletons have been falling more and more in recent months. In my opinion, there is no doubt that customers will soon be able to buy this device in brick-and-mortar retail stores in the near future, "SuitX founder Homayoon Kazerooni told the BBC. The wearer of this device is much stronger and more durable thanks to the technology. The exoskeleton also protects and supports humans during many physical activities. Many are built on "classic technologies", such as solid reinforcements, mechanical joints, electric motors and lithium batteries. Thanks to the development of new materials and additive production methods (3D printing), it has been possible to reduce the dimensions and weight of the equipment so that they allow relatively comfortable use. However, the development of this technology is still ongoing and the device is becoming more and more perfect day by day. Exoskeletons thus help, for example, those who perform work at the limit of physical possibilities. It is, for example, an exoskeleton supporting the back and preventing its overloading. For example, if a factory fitter frequently lifts heavy objects off the ground, usually ending in painful back problems, he might be wearing an exoskeleton that will be passive during normal movement, but will engage and help perform the movement as soon as it measures a significant load on the back muscle system. However, similarly designed robotic aids can be used in case of health complications. It can be beneficial, for example, in the rehabilitation of problems with walking, but also with the movement of the upper limbs. In the case of rehabilitation, in addition, exo-suits will allow you to reverse their function at a certain stage, as they can counteract the movement performed and thus help strengthen precisely defined muscle groups during exercise. Now, according to the founder of SuitX, exoskeletons will be increasingly used by ordinary consumers in everyday activities, thanks to increasingly favorable prices. ABI Research says global revenue from exoskeleton sales will increase from $ 392 million in 2020 to about $ 6.8 billion in 2030.
