Export Expectation for 2021 Increased in the First Quarter
The export expectation for 2021 increased in the first quarter. According to the Foreign Trade Expectation Survey announced by the Ministry of Trade, the export expectation for the first three months of this year increased by 6.5 points compared to the previous period and was recorded as 114.9.

Ministry of Trade shared the Foreign Trade Expectation Survey for the first 3 months of 2021.
According to the announced survey, the Export Prospect Index increased by 6.5 points in the said period compared to the previous quarter. The index, which was 108.4 in the fourth quarter of 2020, rose to 114.9 in the first three months of this year. The index increased by 1 point compared to the same period of 2020.
For the first three months of the year, the export expectation for the next quarter, export order expectation, the current registered export order level and the evaluations regarding the export order level for the last quarter affected the Export Expectation Index to increase.
Import Expectation Index Increased 6.9 Points
The Import Expectation Index for the first three months of 2021 increased by 6.9 points compared to the last 3 months of 2020 and reached the level of 112.8. The index increased by 6.9 points compared to the same period last year.
While the index for the import
expectation for the last 3 months, the import unit price expectation and the currently registered import order level questions were on the rise, the evaluations about the import order level for the last 3 months had a decrease.
