Exports Of Goods From The European Union Weakened By 10.3 Percent
According to the first estimate, exports of goods from the European Union weakened by 10.3 percent year on year to 178.9 billion euros in October.
Imports of goods into the EU fell by 14.3 percent to 150.8 billion euros compared to the same month last year. The EU had a surplus of € 28.1 billion in foreign trade in goods.
The surplus thus increased year-on-year, as in October 2019 it amounted to 23.5 billion euros. The statistical office of the European Union,
Eurostat, informed about it.
October exports of euro area goods, including exports to non-monetary bloc
EU member states, fell by 9 percent year on year to € 199.3 billion, according to a first estimate.
Imports into the euro area fell by 11.7 percent to 169.3 billion euros. The euro area thus recorded a surplus of EUR 30 billion in trade in goods, compared with EUR 27.2 billion in October last year.
