Facebook Froze Venezuelan President Maduro's Account
Facebook froze Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro's account for spreading false information about the coronavirus outbreak.
Facebook has frozen Venezuela's President Maduro's account. It was claimed that Nicolas Maduro spread false information about the coronavirus outbreak as the reason for the social media platform to make such a decision.
According to the social media platform,
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro violated Facebook's policies by promoting the use of a drug called Carvativir, which he claimed was good against coronavirus.
Facebook removed the video of Maduro promoting the drug called Carvativir from its platform and frozen Maduro's account for 30 days.
The Venezuelan President had mentioned the Carvativir drug made from thyme as a "miracle" in the video removed by Facebook and suggested that it can be used in the treatment of coronavirus.
