Facebook Will fight for WhatsApp and Instagram
For those pressuring the company to take back their WhatsApp and Instagram purchases, Facebook has a clear answer: No.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Facebook's lawyers prepared up a 14-page strategy paper, while both Congress and the competition board set the stage for Facebook to take back the deal for Instagram and WhatsApp that it bought. The company will claim that resolving WhatsApp and Instagram purchases will cost billions of dollars and harm users.
The report was also preparing to reveal the Competition Board Subcommittee's research on
Facebook (ticker: FB), Apple (AAPL), Alphabet (GOOGL) and Amazon.com (AMZN) later this month.

The Federal Trade Commission reported that it prepared a lawsuit against Facebook and could open it before the end of the year, most likely focusing on the company's claim that their WhatsApp and Instagram acquisitions reduced competition in the social networking industry.
Facebook bought WhatsApp for $ 19 billion in 2014 and Instagram for $ 1 billion in 2012.
Both acquisitions have been reviewed without objection by the Federal Trade Commission.
Facebook currently has no strong allies, and left-leaning Democrats such as Senator Elizabeth Warren support Facebook's retracement of Instagram and WhatsApp purchases. Also, the Trump administration does not support Facebook
