With Facebook changing its company name, the Facebook social media application will be positioned as one of the company's Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus and other affiliates. It has been seen before that technology companies in Silicon Valley change their parent company names as they expand their fields of activity. Wanting to expand its operations beyond search engine and advertising services on the internet, Google established the main holding of Alphabet Inc in 2015 and gathered its units under it.
