FCA Issued A Termination Order For Bitcoin ATMs
Bans on Bitcoin continues in the UK. The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) issued a termination order for Bitcoin ATMs in the country.
FCA has warned that all cryptocurrency ATMs operating in the country are illegal and should be shut down. The FCA wrote a letter to the providers of Bitcoin ATMs telling them to cease operations or they could face enforcement action.
According to Coin ATM Radar data; There are a total of 81 Bitcoin ATMs in the UK. Most of these ATMs can operate in convenience stores and supermarkets designated by the Financial Conduct Authority (
FCA).
The FCA said today that operators must be registered with the FCA to provide ATM services and comply with money laundering regulations. According to the information obtained, none of the operators operating Bitcoin ATMs are licensed by the FCA. For this reason, it is demanded that the machines be removed.
