The US Federal Reserve Philadelphia branch released manufacturing index data for April.

According to the results of the survey conducted by the bank, the Philadelphia
Fed Manufacturing Index rose to 50.2 in April, an increase of 5.7 points compared to the previous month.
The index, which was below market expectations and achieved the strongest growth in nearly 50 years, was expected to reach 42 in April. The data for March was changed from 51.8 to 44.5.
During this period, the skin order index decreased by 2 points to 36, while the shipping index increased by 3 points to 25.3. The employment index reached 30.8 with an increase of 3.4 points.
In the indices prepared by the Philadelphia Fed, values above zero indicates expansion and values below zero indicates contraction.
