Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin spoke at the congress of the Social Democratic Party. According to the news in Reuters, Finnish Prime Minister Marin said that they should shorten the eight-hour work per day. This will be balanced with increased productivity, Marin said. In her speech, Sanna Marin said, "We should shorten the working hours in our country and define a clear vision and take concrete steps for Finnish workers to have a better working life."

34-year-old Marin is one of the youngest prime ministers in the world. She canceled some of the spending cuts imposed by the previous government. The Social Democratic Party refused to accept the six-hour working day trial. However, the party adopted the goal of reducing Marin's working hours and providing flexibility in working life. Prime Minister Marin said that while shorter working hours will increase productivity, it does not contradict the government's goal of increasing employment from 73.7 percent to at least 75 percent.
