Fitch Has Improved Its Growth Forecast For The Chinese Economy Next Year
The international rating agency Fitch has improved its growth forecast for the Chinese economy next year due to an increase in domestic demand and expectations of vaccination.
Fitch now predicts that
China's gross domestic product will strengthen by eight percent in 2021. Back in September, the agency estimated that next year's growth of the Chinese economy would be at the level of 7.7 percent. The cnbc.com portal informs about it.
The growth rate of the Chinese economy will be well above its long-term potential, which is around 5.5 percent, but is achievable from a low base in 2020, Fitch analysts said.
They pointed out that data in recent months point to a significant recovery in consumption in China, especially in the hospitality industry and in other activities involving social gatherings.
For the whole of this year, the Chinese economy, which is the second largest in the world, is estimated by
Fitch to strengthen by 2.3 percent. In the first quarter, the country's economy weakened by 6.8 percent due to the outbreak of a coronavirus pandemic.
