In the statement made by Ford Otosan to KAP regarding the issue, the following is stated: "Due to the interruptions in the production facilities abroad, the need to make changes in our production calendar has arisen. In this context, production will be suspended in our Kocaeli Gölcük factory between 30.03.2020 - 04.04.2020." As it is known, Ford produces Ford Transit and Ford Custom models in Gölcük. The total production capacity of the Gölcük factory, which employs 5,910 people, was announced as 330 thousand. Ford Otosan General Manager Haydar Yenigün, recently told The Press that the outbreak of coronavirus has hit the automotive sector by expressing that the developments in the European market affect Turkey more than China, he said.
