Foreign Affairs Announced the Declaration from the EU Leaders Summit Foreign Affairs has announced the declaration from the EU Leaders Summit. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs made a statement regarding the declaration of the EU leaders. In the statement, it is said, "Since the EU Government and Heads of State Summit on October 1-2, even though there are many EU countries including the term president which are in an effort to create dialogue and contact, there has not been a creation of a positive agenda in the Turkey-EU relations because of the narrow political calculations of one or two countries and EU kept seeking to take restrictive measures which have no benefits." Ministry of Interior, the EU Heads of State and Government Summit on 10-11 December in response to the conclusions on Turkey, issued a written statement. In the statement, which emphasized that the European Union could not get rid of the search for restrictive measures, which had no benefit, "Some member countries are abusing their membership solidarity and veto rights, with maximalist demands they raised against Turkey, they put EU and Turkey into a vicious cycle. This case is damaging to common interests of Turkey and EU along with the peace, security and stability of our region. In particular, we reject the biased and unlawful attitude towards Cyprus, the Eastern Mediterranean, the Aegean and the regional issues, which we know that the majority of the EU does not adopt, but had to be put into the conclusions of the December 10 EU Summit due to solidarity and veto pressure. Turkey, despite the provocative steps, has always expressed its readiness to start exploratory negotiations with Greece, without preconditions, for the establishment of stability in the region.   "They Must Give Up This Attitude" In the statement which underlined that Turkey and Norty Cyprus Turkish Republic are in an effort to make the hydrocarbon resources in the Eastern Mediterranean a stabilizing factor rather than a source of tension, it was stated: " In this decision, the EU once again ignored the Turkish Cypriot people, who are the common owners of the Cyprus Island, and condemned itself to the imposition of the Greek Cypriot Administration (GASC) on the Cyprus issue and Closed Varosha issues. The EU should no longer give up this stance to prevent a just, permanent and sustainable solution to the Cyprus issue based on the facts on the island. It is the healthiest way out for the Greek Cypriots to come together with the Turkish Cypriots to discuss the issue of hydrocarbon resources causing tension in the Eastern Mediterranean, the sharing of their revenues and to take concrete steps towards a solution. "   The EU Should Mediate In the statement of the Ministry, it was also stated that the Eastern Mediterranean regional conference was an opportunity in this regard and the following were noted: "The legitimate rights of our country and the TRNC will continue to be resolutely protected in the Eastern Mediterranean. It is embarrassing for the EU that Greece pushes migrants back in the Aegean Sea and Frontex is involved in these actions It is not possible to talk about the responsible management of migration flows without ending these violations and collective deportation practices, which are serious violations of human rights and are strongly condemned by the international public. The EU should show its sensitivity to migration management not to our country, but to Greece, in particular, to systematize the inhumane treatment of asylum seekers. It will be in our common interest to initiate the work to update all issues in the 18 March Turkey-EU Agreement without any preconditions and without making one of these issues a condition for the other. It will also serve to overcome the common challenges we face in Europe and beyond. As we have always said, the EU should take the role of honest mediator; should act principled, strategically and sensibly "
