From the New Year, all goods from Britain are subject to customs supervision
From 1 January 2021, all goods from the United Kingdom will be subject to customs and customs controls at borders or airports. This is pointed out by the Financial Report in connection with the new rules after the end of the transitional period after Brexit.
The new trade rules between the
United Kingdom and EU Member States will be governed by a "post-brexit" agreement from the New Year. The financial report declares that it is ready for the new situation and will help its clients.
"Businesses and citizens alike must file a customs declaration. Although in most cases a zero or reduced rate of import duty will be applied under the 'post-interest' agreement, in some cases you will not avoid imposing customs duties," said Financial Administration spokeswoman Martina Rybanská.
Rules as for other third parties
Businesses also need a so-called EORI number, which is valid throughout the European Union and is used when lodging a customs declaration in each of the Member States.
However, despite the "post-
brexit" agreement, the rules apply as in other third countries, the Financial Report emphasized. For shipments up to the value of 22 euros, the citizen does not pay customs duties or value added tax (VAT). However, if the consignment is of a higher value, the client must clear it, while paying VAT and from the value of the consignment of 150 euros, the duty also applies.
