German Union Calls Amazon Workers to Strike!
The German Union called for seven Amazon warehouse workers to strike for several days on Monday, which coincided with the Prime Day Promotion!
Verdi's Union representative said he arranged for the three-day strike as part of their long-running struggle with the US tech giant over work and wages.
Orhan Akman, representative of the German Union Verdi, said, "The employees in the mail order centers are working extra hard to cope with the customer density and they cannot get a penny for this heavy workload!"
Germany, Amazon's largest market after the United States, has been holding strikes led by the Verdi Union since 2013 to protest low wages and poor conditions.

Earlier this month, Amazon announced that its German warehouses will charge 12 euros per hour from July, which will increase to at least 12.50 euros per hour from autumn 2022.
Amazon, which organizes Prime Day to increase summer sales, encourages its subscribers to shop more within the company by offering special discounts for members only. The fact that the main importance of this campaign is to market Amazon Prime, which offers fast shipping and media streaming service, is also known by everyone.
