A giant Grant was awarded from BitMEX to the smart contract developer. BitMEX, the cryptocurrencies exchange, last week awarded a $ 50,000 grant to a Bitcoin Core participant who said he was working on a smart contract language for Bitcoin.
1-Year Grant Was Given
A statement by 100x Group on Wednesday said it had given a one-year grant to Jeremy Rubin as part of its open-source developer Grant Program.
The Seychelles-based company, which recently changed its name to separate it from HDR trading, had also given similar grants to Michael Michael, Amiti Uttarwar, and Gleb Naumenko, who have made major contributions to Bitcoin Core.
Rubin, a Bitcoin developer since 2011, reported last week that it has developed a new programming language "Sapio" for the complete smart contract capability in the Bitcoin protocol.
What Purpose Was The Grant Given?
In addition, Rubin was the founder of Judica, a new research organization that aims to develop and publish new software tools for Bitcoin.
In a statement, 100x Group said the grant would make Judica financially sustainable and that research on Sapio could be further funded. Founded in 2014, BitMEX's main product is the bitcoin permanent contract, and trading volume compared to CoinGecko was at $ 800 million at the time of writing.
