Global Stock Markets Continue To Decline
Global stock markets continue to decline. After the US stock markets, Asian stock markets also had their share of the decline.
Concerns that the delta variant poses a threat to the economic recovery play a major role in the decline in stock markets.
Japan's Nikkei index was close to 1 percent today, Topix was 1.01 percent, and South Korea's Kospi index fell 0.8 percent. Stock markets in Hong Kong and China also declined.
Stock markets in the
USA experienced a sharp decline yesterday, while the Dow Jones index fell by more than 700 points.
S&P 500 futures rose 0.2 percent this morning, while Nasdaq futures rose 0.4 percent. While Bloomberg Dollar Spot index remained flat, Euro/Dollar traded at 1.1791.
The 10-year U.S. bond yield was at 1.19 percent today, after falling by 10 basis points yesterday.
The barrel price of
West Texas-type crude oil rose 0.2 percent to $66.52. Oil fell 7.5 percent yesterday.
Gold, on the other hand, rose 0.2 percent and rose to $1,816.88 an ounce.
