Google Moves to Coinbase for Cryptocurrency Payments
American technology company Google announced that they have established a partnership with Coinbase for the cloud services they provide. Search engine giant Google will provide the option to pay with cryptocurrency.
Google has made a big move regarding cryptocurrencies. On October 11, the company announced in a press release that it will accept cryptocurrency payments for its cloud services and will work in partnership with Coinbase. As part of the deal, Coinbase will also move some of its applications from Amazon Web Services to Google.
With the integration with Coinbase Commerce service, users will be able to make payments with 10 cryptocurrencies supported in the application.
Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash, Dogecoin (DOGE), Ethereum (ETH) and Litecoin (LTC) are among the cryptocurrencies accepted in Commerce.
Amit Zavery, General Manager of Google Cloud Platform, said that Google will allow more customers to pay with cryptocurrencies over time. Director Zavery said that Coinbase was chosen in this area because
"Coinbase is the cryptocurrency company with the largest capacity in this area".
Coinbase will provide a certain commission amount for transactions conducted through Google. Experts added that this could strengthen the hand of Coinbase, whose cash flow statement deteriorated considerably in the last quarter.
