Grain Corridor Statement by the Ministry of National Defense
The Ministry of National Defense issued a statement on Russia's withdrawal from the grain corridor agreement.
In the statement released by the Ministry of National Defense, the following statements were made:
"The Russian Federation has informed the United Nations and the authorities of our country that the grain initiative has been temporarily suspended due to the attacks in Sevastopol on October 29.
Russian personnel assigned to the Joint Coordination Center in Istanbul are still at the Center. There will be no ship departures from Ukraine during this period. The inspection of ships loaded with grain waiting in front of Istanbul is planned to continue today and tomorrow.
In order to solve the problem and to continue the activities of the grain interference, which have been successfully carried out in coordination so far, our Minister of National Defense Mr. Hulusi Akar continues to negotiate and coordinate with his counterparts and the relevant authorities continue to negotiate and coordinate among themselves.
In these meetings, the parties are reminded of the importance of the continuation of this initiative, which has a positive impact on humanity around the world and proves that all crises can be resolved with goodwill and dialogue, and the importance of avoiding any provocations that will negatively affect the continuation of the mechanism.''
