Gram of Gold Reached the 500 TL Limit
The gram price of gold has reached the 500 TL limit. While the price on ounce of gold regressed with the developments regarding the incentive package and the appreciation of the dollar, gram of gold saw its peak with the depreciation of the Turkish Lira.
After the dollar / TL exchange rate reached the highest level of all time, gram of gold also renewed a record and pushed the ladder to 500 TL. During the day, quarter gold was traded at 818 lira, and Cumhuriyet gold at 3 thousand 340 lira.
It was observed that the price of ounce of
gold fell in global markets.
In addition, it is observed that the gold investors prefer to maintain their position as the cases of coronavirus in Europe are on the rise again and deteriorate expectations.
It is a time of increased demand for gold in Turkey with the owners of savings and the Mint’s production of gold reached record levels.
According to the data shared by Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (
CBRT), the Mint held the record production of 17.8 tonnes in August. As of January-August period, gold production reached 62.5 tons. In the same period of 2019, this figure was recorded as 21.4 tons.
