In an effort to recover its economy,
Greece is preparing to accept tourists who have been vaccinated and tested negative this week.
Greece will accept the entry of tourists who have been vaccinated, test negative, or have tests that prove that they have antibodies in their body after they get sick. While all vaccines are accepted in the country, random tests to tourists are among the plans.
Greek Minister of Tourism, Haris Theoharis, explaining the country's tourism initiative, said, "Priorities in our lives have now changed." Minister Theoharis also stated that the borders would be closed again if necessary.
25 percent of the employment in the country and approximately one fifth of the national income are obtained from the tourism sector. In addition to its tourism initiative, Greece aims to remove some coronavirus (Covid-19) measures such as interregional travel restrictions.
