Green Vehicles Will Reach A Fifth Share Of The Chinese Market By 2025
New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) should account for one-fifth of total car sales in China within five years.Their share should be halved in another 10 years.The Chinese Society of Automotive Engineers (China-UAE) said on Tuesday.As China's Li-UAE President Li Jun said at the annual conference in Shanghai, green vehicles should account for 20 percent of total car sales in the Chinese market in 2025.In 2035, their share should already be 50 percent.By comparison, this share currently stands at about 5 percent.He added that of the total number of new energy vehicles sold in 2035, 95 percent should be battery electric cars.The rest should be hybrid vehicles.According to the latest data presented at the Li Jün conference, China-UAE slightly worsened the estimate of sales of green vehicles within five years.The goal presented by the Chinese Ministry of Industry last year was for NEV's share of total vehicle sales in 2025 to be 25 percent.
