Derya Yanık, Minister of Family and Social Services, stated that natural gas aid will also be provided within the scope of heating support for those in need, and this support will be determined according to the thermal map, and said, "Support between 450 lira and 1150 lira per household will be provided annually."
Yanık met with journalists in an organization affiliated with the Ministry and made evaluations about the agenda of the Ministry.
Reminding that natural gas aid will be implemented in addition to the coal aid per household to those in need, Yanık said that the work on this issue has reached its final stage.
Informing that they are working with the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Yanık explained that applications can be made from the second half of February and payments will be starting from the second half of March.
Burns stated that applications for social assistance can be made via e-Government or the Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundations.
Providing information on how to make natural gas payments, Yanık stated that the payment will be deposited on the PTT cards.
Minister Derya Yanık continued as follows:
"People will pay their bills and get their rightful payment at the PTT. The numbers were pretty much formed and clear. Payment will be made per household, depending on the thermal map, because the heating needs of a person in Erzurum are not the same as those of a person in the Aegean. That's why our colleagues worked on a thermal map. This is a purely technical and scientific study. According to this, support will be provided between 450 lira and 1150 lira per household per year. We will make these payments in two equal parts in March and October. Coal aid was pretty much similar.
Our goal is to reach 4 million households. We foresee annual support of 3 billion liras. In other words, our payments range from 450 lira to 1150 lira, which is determined according to the thermal map, depending on the region. We are making an intense effort not to exceed the dates we have specified, and to do it earlier if possible."
Minister Yanık added that natural gas payments are planned to be made twice a year in quarterly periods.
