Housing Sales Data Announced
Housing sales data have been announced. In October housing sales in Turkey recorded a decrease of 16.3 percent.

TURKSTAT), announced the new home sales data for October. According to the data, the number of public housing in Turkey decreased by 12.5 percent in October compared to the previous month, decreased 16.3 percent compared to the same month last year. The number of houses sold in October was recorded as 119 thousand 574.
Istanbul took the lead in housing sales again. With 22 thousand 270 houses (18.6 percent), Istanbul took the first place on the list. Istanbul was followed by Ankara with 10 thousand 624 house sales (8.9 percent), followed by İzmir with 6 thousand 846 house sales (5.7 percent). The provinces with the least sales were Ardahan with 16 houses, Hakkari with 24 houses and Bayburt with 71 houses.
Number of Houses Sold for the First Time
The number of houses sold for the first time fell 26.3 percent in October compared to the same month of last year and became 36 thousand 976. The share of the first sale in total house sales was recorded as 30.9 percent.
In the first sales, again, İstabul took the top of the list. Istanbul had the highest share (17.3 percent) with 6 thousand 401 houses. Istanbul was followed by Ankara with 2 thousand 409 house sales, and Izmir followed Ankara with 1,797 sales.
Second-hand housing sales decreased by 10.8 percent in October compared to the same period of last year and became 82,598.
Istanbul ranked first in this area with 15,869 second-hand housing sales and 19.2 percent share. The share of second hand sales in total house sales in Istanbul was recorded as 71.3 percent. Istanbul was followed by Ankara with 8,215 house sales and İzmir with 5,49 sales.
Number of Houses Sold to Foreigners
The number of house sales to foreigners increased by 23.1 percent in October compared to the same month of last year and was recorded as 5,258.
In this item, Istanbul was placed in the first place again with 2 thousand 458 houses, followed by Antalya with 928 sales. Ankara ranked third with 347 sales, followed by Yalova with 187 sales and Bursa with 186 housing sales.
In October, 909 Iraqi citizens residing in Turkey bought housing. Iran was followed by Iraq with 849 houses. Citizens of the Russian Federation bought 400 houses, citizens of Afghanistan 225, and citizens of Kazakhstan 213 houses.
In the January-October period, housing sales increased by 27 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 1 million 280 thousand 852. During this period, mortgaged housing sales increased by 124.2 percent to 534,256. Other types of sales decreased by 3 percent and were recorded as 746 thousand 596.
In the said period, houses sold for the first time increased by 2.3 percent to 396 thousand 184. Second-hand
housing sales also increased by 42.5 percent and recorded as 884 thousand 668.
