Housing starts in the US fell more than expected. Accordingly, housing starts fell sharply from the predicted 5.1 percent in August.
Housing startups in the United States fell more than expected, 5.1 percent in August to 1,416,000. Expected drop was 0.6 percent to 1,488,000, according to the median estimates of economists surveyed by
Bloomberg.
The expectations of 68 economists surveyed by Bloomberg came between 1,322,000 and 1,600,000.
Building permits decreased by 0.9 percent in August to 1,470,000. Estimates were for this data to increase by 2.0 percent to 1,512,000.
