Housing starts in the United States rose less than estimated in June, compared to the previous month at 17.3. With this increase, the beginnings increased from the previous month's 1.011,000 to 1.186,000.
According to the median of the expectations of economists participating in Bloomberg's survey, this data was estimated to rise 22.2 percent to 1,190,000.
The estimates of 64 economists who participated in the survey came between 1,050,000 and 1,330,000. Single-family housing starts increased to 831,000, while multi-family housing starts increased to 355,000.
During the period in question, construction permits increased from its level in May to 1,216,000 to 1,241,000. Estimates of 46 economists who took part in the Bloomberg survey came in between 1.081,000 and 1.360,000.
The permits thus rose 2.1 percent in June, after the 14.1 percent increase in May.
