Hungary's trade surplus increased in November
Hungary reported a trade surplus of more than € 836 million in November, beating a preliminary estimate of more than € 25 million. This was mainly due to a sharp increase in exports.
This was pointed out by the final data published by the
Hungarian Statistical Office.
In October, the trade surplus amounted to EUR 894.5 million.
Exports rose 7.9% year-on-year in November, following a 0.1% rise in October. According to the original report, exports increased by 6.9%.
Imports rose by 2.6 per cent per year in November compared to a growth of 1.9 per cent in the original report. In October, imports decreased by 5.1%.
On a monthly basis, exports rose by 0.2 per cent and imports increased by 1.6 per cent.
The trade surplus reached EUR 836.3 million in November, while in the same month of the previous year Hungary recorded a surplus of EUR 328.8 million. The preliminary estimate indicated a surplus of EUR 811 million.
Exports from
Hungary increased year-on-year in November after adjusting the data by 7.9 percent after a 0.1 percent increase in October. Imports also grew, but the growth rate reached only 2.6 percent.
