Hyundai Assan Predicts an Increase In Exports This Year
Hyundai Assan predicts an increase in exports this year. The company estimates the increase will be 11 percent.
Hyundai Assan General Manager Murat Berkel spoke to Bloomberg HT regarding the company's annual production and export targets.
Speaking about
Hyundai's goals for 2021, Murat Berkel stated that they foresee the automotive market around 750 thousand this year and that they aim to sell more than 34 thousand vehicles in 2021. Stating that they carried out retail-oriented sales last year, Berkel expressed that they anticipate an increase of 11 percent in exports this year.
Berkel pointed out that the campaigns positively affected the automotive market, and noted that on the other hand, vehicle loan interest rates increased compared to last year and that the exchange rate became a determinant for vehicle pricing. Emphasizing that the number of electric vehicle sales in Turkey is very low, Murat Berkel stated that the authorities should work more thoroughly on the SCT.
Berkel, who evaluated about Hyundai's new SUV model Bayon, announced that Bayon is the beginning of a new era for the company and that 50 million Euros have been invested for this model. It was noted that the company, which is reported to start mass production of Bayon on March 15, aims to have a strong product range in SUV models. In addition to these, Berkel also informed that Hyundai will bring Kona electric vehicle to consumers in June-July.
