Trump said, "I do not want violence, I never wanted it," and described the impeachment process against him as “the continuation of the witch hunt”.

Speaking to the press for the first time after the Congressional crackdown on January 6, Trump said, “I do not want violence, I never wanted it.”
Regarding the impeachment process, Trump said, “The impeachment process is the continuation of the greatest witch hunt in our political history. Absolutely ridiculous. This impeachment process causes great anger.”
Trump considered the efforts of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, whose chamber was seized during the raid, and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer to dismiss him as "terrible".
