According to data released by the Federal Statistical Office, industrial production in Germany fell 7.8% in May compared to the previous month, falling behind expectations of an increase of 11.1.
Industrial production in Germany fell by 19.3 percent in the same period compared to the same month of 2019. The expectation was that there would be a 16.9 percent reduction on an annual basis.
According to the published data, capital goods production increased by 27.6 percent monthly. Production in consumer goods rose 1.4 percent month on month. Production of core goods fell 0.1 percent compared to the previous month.
