Inflation Data For May Has Announced Announced In Turkey
Inflation data for May has been announced in Turkey. According to TURKSTAT data, annual inflation was 16.59 percent.
Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) announced inflation data for May. According to the data announced by TURKSTAT, consumer prices increased by 14.13 percent and domestic producer prices increased by 22.24 percent, according to the 12-month averages as of May.
On a monthly basis, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 0.89 percent, while the Domestic Producer Price Index (D-PPI) increased by 3.92 percent.
While annual
inflation was 16.59 percent in consumer prices, it was recorded as 38.33 percent in domestic producer prices.
CPI increased by 6.39 percent in May compared to December last year and by 16.59 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
D-PPI, on the other hand, increased by 17.34 percent compared to December 2020 and increased by 38.33 percent compared to May of last year.
Most Increase Was Recorded on Potatoe Prices
According to the data of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT), the price increase in potatoes, which was 41.57 percent, was followed by carrots with 36.37 percent and intercity bus fares with 29.46 percent.
Other products with the highest price increase in May included domestic tours for one week or more with 17.48 percent, lemon with 16.63 percent, jewelery (gold) with 8.99 percent.
The product with the highest price decrease last month was the green pepper with 50.94 percent. This was followed by green pepper with 45.52 percent, green beans with 34.90 percent, tomato with 27.44 percent, cucumber with 25.22 percent and garlic with 21.20 percent.
