Inflation Figures Have Been Announced

Inflation figures have been announced. Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) announced the inflation data.

According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT), the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 0.91 percent on a monthly basis in February, while the Domestic Producer Price Index (D-PPI) increased by 1.22 percent. Annual inflation was 15.61 percent in consumer prices, while it was 27.09 percent in domestic producer prices. The Consumer Price Index increased by 0.91 percent in February compared to the previous month, 2.60 percent compared to December of the previous year, 15.61 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and 12.81 percent on the averages of twelve months. The lowest increase was seen in alcoholic beverages and tobacco group with 2.87 percent on an annual basis.  

Which were the Main Groups with the Highest and Lowest Increases?

The other main groups with low increase compared to the same month of the previous year were education with 6.13 percent, clothing and shoes with 6.31 percent and communication with 7.15 percent, respectively. In addition, the main groups with higher increase compared to the same month of the previous year were household goods with 23.74 percent, transportation with 22.47 percent and various goods and services with 20.61 percent, respectively. The group, which showed the highest monthly decline, was recorded as miscellaneous goods and services with 2.32 percent. As of the main spending groups, the other main groups that decreased in February 2021 were entertainment and culture with 0.98 percent and clothing and shoes with 0.93 percent. In addition, the groups with high increases in February 2021 by main expenditure groups were health with 3.00 percent, food and non-alcoholic beverages with 2.57 percent, and restaurants and hotels with 1.32 percent, respectively.  

D-PPI Increased by 1.22 Percent

On the other hand, D-PPI increased 1.22 percent compared to the previous month, 3.92 percent compared to December of the previous year, 27.09 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and 15.14 percent on the twelve-month averages. Manufacturing from the four main sectors of the industry increased 29.57 percent annually. Manufacturing from the four main sectors of the industry increased 1.56 percent on a monthly basis.
