Inflation Figures Was Above Expectations Inflation figures was above expectations. Inflation rose 2.3 percent in November. Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) announced inflation figures for the month of November. According to the announced data, inflation came above expectations. Inflation increased by 2.3 percent in November, and was 14.03 percent annually. Inflation, which increased by 2.30 percent in November compared to the previous month, increased by 13.19 percent compared to December of the previous year, 14.03 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and 12.04 percent on the averages of twelve months.   Alcoholic Beverage and Tobacco Group had the Lowest Increase on an Annual Basis The other main groups where the increase was low compared to the same month of last year were clothing and footwear with 0.99 percent, communication with 5.19 percent and education with 7.00 percent. On the other hand, the main groups with high increase compared to the same month of the previous year were recorded as miscellaneous goods and services with 29.42 percent, food and soft drinks with 21.08 percent and transportation with 18.67 percent.   The Only Main Group That Decreased On A Monthly Basis Was Education The only main group that recorded a decrease in November was education with 0.19 percent. While there was no monthly change in the main group of alcoholic beverages and tobacco, the groups that showed the least increase were communication with 0.12 percent and health with 0.80 percent. The groups with high increases in terms of main spending groups were recorded as transportation with 4.51 percent, food and non-alcoholic beverages with 4.16 percent and household goods with 1.69 percent, respectively. In the previous month, the prices of 54 items out of 418 items in the index decreased. The prices of 42 items remained unchanged. The price of 322 items increased.
