Inflation In The US Once Again Exceeds 5 Percent
Inflation in the US once again exceeds 5 percent. The inflation rate in the country exceeded expectations.
Inflation in the USA increased more than expected in June and reached 5.4 percent annually, while it was 0.9 percent on a monthly basis. Inflation in the USA was last calculated as 5.4 percent in August 2008.
The median expectation of economists surveyed by
Bloomberg was that inflation would increase by 4.9 percent annually and 0.5 percent monthly.
In May, inflation in the USA exceeded expectations and was recorded as 5 percent annually and 0.6 percent monthly.
One third of the increase in inflation in June was the increase in second-hand car prices, while accommodation, car rental, clothing and flight prices, which increased with the opening of the economy, also played a role in the increase.
On the other hand, the inflation basket, which includes highly volatile food and energy, increased by 4.5 percent on an annual basis, while the monthly inflation rate remained stable at 0.9 percent.
