Inflation information announced for April

  Statistics types April inflation, Turkey Statistical Institute (TSI) announced. According to the data announced, the CPI rose 0.85 percent in April. Annual inflation data was given at 10.94 percent. While the consumer price index (CPI) was 10.94% annually, it rose 0.85% monthly. The CPI rose 0.85% in April compared to March this year, 3.16% in December 2019, 10.94% in March 2019 and 12.66% compared to twelve months' data. THE LOWEST UPGRADE IN THE COMMUNICATION GROUP Various main groups in which the increase was the smallest compared to March 2019 were the clothing and footwear group with 4.90%, the entertainment and culture group with 4.91% and the transport group with 5.54%. In addition, the main groups in which the increase was most pronounced compared to March 2019 were alcoholic beverages and tobacco at a rate of 31.32%, various goods and services at a rate of 20.34% and residential real estate at one Rate of 14.52%. MONTHLY REDUCTION OF THE TRANSPORT GROUP Other groups that were among the main spending groups in April 2020 were recorded as communication with 1.23%, entertainment and culture with 0.67% and housing with 0.32%. In addition, the main expenditure groups were recorded as the groups with the highest increase in April 2020, including various goods and services by 4.66%, clothing and shoes by 4.08% and food and soft drinks by 2.53%. In April this year, the average of 87 items declined, while the average of 61 items did not change from 418 items in the index. The average of 270 areas increased. Excluding unprocessed food, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and gold, the CPI rose 1.11% in March compared to March, while it increased 2.24% compared to December 2019 and 11.27% compared to March 2019.
