The Governorship of Istanbul carried out weight-price and tariff controls in 2,892 bakeries in the city. In a written statement made by the Governorship of Istanbul, it was reported that the bakeries operating in the city were inspected due to the increase in complaints about "weight / price / non-tariff production and sales". Inspection, under the coordination of the Governorship; It was held on 20-24-25-26 November with the participation of the teams of district governorships, Provincial Trade Directorate, District Police Department and District Agriculture, Food and Livestock Directorate.

“In these inspections, in accordance with Article 54 of the Law on the Protection of Consumers No.6502, Price Label Regulation and the Law on the Regulation of Retail Trade No. 6585, the products that are produced and sold in bakeries; The availability of price tags and tariff price lists, whether the price tags / price-tariff lists are in compliance with the legislation, the bread prices in bakeries are included in the maximum bread price tariff announced by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) and the Istanbul Chamber of Crafts and Craftsmen (ISTESOB) ( It was checked whether the price of 1 kg bread was sold to a maximum of 7.5 TL (200 grams of bread 1.5 TL) and whether there was an unfair price increase.”
Report Is Made For 1571 Bakeries
In the statement of the governorship, it was determined that the 1321 bakery complied with the standards, and 200 grams of bread, which should be 1.5 lira according to the maximum bread price tariff in 1571 bakery, was sold at a higher price. The Unfair Price Increase Report was prepared and asked to defend the 1571 bakery that did not comply with the price / weight tariff.
In the statement, which stated that an inspector was appointed by the Ministry of Commerce in some bakeries that were found to have applied illegal price tariffs, it was noted that the origin of the said tariff would definitely be determined and the public would be informed about this situation, which the Governorship closely followed.

“We remind the bakers who do not comply with the price tariff determined by professional organizations to the professional principles of the shopkeepers, Ahi Evran, and we recommend them to stay away from behaviors aimed at gaining unfair profit. We will continue to monitor the compliance of our furnaces with the weight and price tariff.
