Inspectors assigned to inspect chain markets in Turkey. The Ministry of Commerce made a statement on the subject.
After the statements of
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan about chain markets, the Ministry of Commerce took action.
In the statement made by the Ministry, Minister of Commerce Mehmet Muş said that in order to determine whether exorbitant price increases were made in a wide range of products from eggs to milk, from pasta to rice, from vegetables and fruits to cleaning materials in 5 big chain markets operating all over the country and having the most widespread branch network. It was stated that Trade Inspectors were appointed with the instructions of the company.
"As the Ministry, we are determined to continue our fight against those who act against free competition and market conditions and cause unjust treatment to consumers, and to take all kinds of measures within the legal framework in this regard."
President Erdogan Pointed to Chain Markets
President
Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that the Ministry of Commerce will "take the necessary operations" regarding the exorbitant price claims, said, "The markets are turning upside down with the product collected by these five chain stores."
Speaking to journalists at the Turkevi in New York after his US contacts, Erdogan said, "There are unlimited applications, especially for these chain markets. In the face of these unlimited applications, we, as the Ministry of Commerce, will address them."
