Investing in
Tiktok from
Oracle and
Walmart. The two companies reported that they are planning a minority investment in TikTok Global to take part in the social media battle.
Oracle Corp. and Walmart Inc. are planning a minority investment in
TikTok Global. However, companies with little experience in social media share TikTok, a rapidly growing music and video sharing application that has become the focal point of the trade dispute between the US and China.
It is stated that
Oracle and
Walmart can go up to 20 percent of the purchased organization in a financing tour that will take place together before the first public offering. Sequoia Capital and General Altantic, the current investors of ByteDance Ltd., the developer of TikTok, stated that people close to the subject can watch the shares in the fundraising tour. The majority will be held by
ByteDance.
ByteDance started looking for investors in
TikTok's US operations after US President Donald Trump's statements. In his statement, Donald Trump demanded that TikTok is a threat to the national security of the USA and that it be sold to an American company until September 20 or closed. And finally, ByteDance reported that it blessed the deal even if it would retain majority control.
