Israeli shares rise at close of trade; TA 35 up 1.09
Israeli shares rose after the close on Sunday as gains in the Biomedical, Oil & Gas and Banking sectors pushed shares higher.
TA 35 was up 1.09% at the close in Tel Aviv.
Maytronics (TASE:MTRN), the best performer of the session on TA 35, rose 3.91% or 184.00 points to trade at 4,890.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Bank Hapoalim (TASE:POLI) gained 2.92% or 87.00 points to 3,065.00 and Strauss Group (TASE:STRS) rose 2.58% or 228.00 points to 9,050.00.
Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Corp Ltd (TASE:BEZQ), the worst performer of the session, fell 1.88% or 10.20 points to trade at 532.80 at the close. Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (TASE:TEVA) fell 0.30% or 8.00 points to 2,615.00, while Shapir Engineering Industry (TASE:SPEN) declined 0.14% or 4.00 points to 2,885.00.
The number of stocks rising on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange outnumbered those falling 346 to 144, while 34 stocks were unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery rose 2.01% or 2.07% to $104.80 a barrel. In commodities trading, Brent crude for September delivery rose 2.39% or 2.50% to $107.15 a barrel, while the August gold futures contract added 0.07% or 1.20% to trade at $1,740.90 an ounce.
USD/ILS was down 0.21% at 3.46, while EUR/ILS was 0.07% changed at 3.53.
US Dollar Index Futures traded down 0.25% at 106.69.
