ITO Announced; At The Highest Level Since 1998
Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) published retail and wholesale price indices for August. According to the analysis, retail prices in Istanbul reached 99.91 percent year-on-year, the highest level since 1998. Last month, the increase was recorded as 99.1 percent. Wholesale prices also continued to rise on an annual basis, increasing by 98.09 percent.
Inflation in Istanbul hits record high. The upward momentum in indicators continued in August. In the statement made by Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO), the following statements were used:
August data showed an annual increase of 99.91 percent.
The monthly increase in the index was 2.29 percent. In July, the monthly increase was realized as 4.09 percent.
The highest monthly increase in retail prices was in entertainment expenditures with 13.99 percent, while health increased by 3.99 percent, household goods by 2.74 percent and food by 2.70 percent. The Wholesale Price index was stated as 6.90 percent monthly and 98.06 percent annually.
August inflation data will be announced by
TURKSTAT on Monday, September 5.
