Investors continue to monitor developments in the global coronavirus virus outbreak, as concerns over the economic impact of the virus have been sending markets to a hurricane in recent weeks. According to data compiled by John Hopkins University, more than 1.2 million viruses have been infected globally and at least 65,711 lives have been taken by the virus. "There is still a lot of uncertainty," TD Securities "Mitul Kotecha told CNBC's" Street Signs "on Monday that there are signs that the virus may slow down in some places. This could trigger TD Securities' emerging market strategy senior Kotecha Kotecha "optimism that the deadlocks will not have to last long." “There will be a real war in the coming days with the hope of somehow smoothing the curve in Europe and the US with bad economic data,” he said. The US dollar index, which followed the US dollar against a basket of peers, was at the last 100.632 level after passing the 100 level last week. The Japanese yen traded at 109.16 per dollar after dropping below the 107.4 level last week. The Australian dollar changed hands at $ 0.6028 after dropping above $ 0.609 last week.
