US Special Envoy for Climate John Kerry made important warnings about climate change. Warning that the world has only 9 years left to prevent the worst consequences of climate change, Kerry stated that afforestation should be accelerated 5 times, the transition to renewable energy 6 times and the transition to
electric vehicles 22 times.
Speaking at the Munich Security Conference via videoconference, Kerry said, "Scientists told us 3 years ago that we have 12 years to avoid the worst consequences of the climate crisis. Three years have passed and now we have only 9 years." In a joint statement with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres after the US officially rejoins the Paris Climate Agreement, from which the Donald Trump administration withdrew, Kerry said that "aggressive" measures must be taken to combat the climate crisis.
China, Russia, India and Japan Alerted
US Climate Special Envoy John Kerry stated that afforestation should be accelerated by 5 times, the transition to renewable energy 6 times and the transition to electric cars must be accelerated by 22 times, and called for the 17 countries that pollute the world, including China, Russia, India and Japan, to accelerate their reduction in carbon emissions.
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres stated that the green economy will create more employment and that the young population will benefit the most from this situation.
