Last Payment time for
taxes postponed due to force majeure. Taxpayers affected by the coronavirus epidemic entered the final payment period.
According to the information compiled by the AA reporter, the
Ministry of Treasury and Finance announced the Economic Stability Shield Package to mitigate the damage to businesses and citizens affected by the Coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic and postponed many obligations.
In this context, it was ensured that taxpayers directly affected by the coronavirus epidemic and the measures taken benefit from the force majeure provisions within the scope of the Tax Procedure Law.
Thanks to the application, a force majeure has been declared for taxpayers who are liable for income tax in terms of commercial, agricultural and professional earnings, directly affected by the epidemic, or operating in sectors where workplaces are temporarily suspended within the scope of the measures taken by the Ministry of Interior.
Accordingly, in addition to the submission period of some 2.7 million taxpayers' withholding and VAT declarations regarding April, May and June, the payment periods of the taxes accrued based on these declarations were postponed for 6 months for each period.
Last Payment Process Entered
The final payment process of the deferred tax obligations has been entered. In this context, the taxes accrued for taxpayers' withholding (including withholding and premium service declaration) and VAT declarations for April, May and June will be paid at the end of October, November and December.
Accordingly, the payment process of taxes accrued for VAT and withholding returns, which must be submitted in April, will end at the end of Tuesday, October 27th.
Payments for the declarations to be submitted in May must be made by 27 November, and payments for the declarations to be made in June by the end of December 28.
