As of this month, the limit for contactless payments made from cards and mobile devices has been changed. The limit has been increased to 750 TL.
In the statement recorded by the Interbank Card Center (BKM), contactless payments up to 750 TL can now be made without encryption, while transactions over this amount can be made contactless and encrypted.
In this way, users will now be able to make higher payments much faster and easier.
This contactless payment method, which has entered our lives, provides speed and time savings as well as hygiene.
According to reports released by BKM, 4 out of every 5 credit cards in wallets are contactless. It is noted that this data is also reflected in shopping.
According to these statements; 7 out of every 10 people prefer contactless payment methods.
In addition, according to May 2022 data, 4 out of every 5 workplaces receive transactions with contactless payment.
BKM data shows that 12 million mobile contactless transactions were made in the first 5 months of 2022 and this figure increased 2 times compared to the same period last year. It is stated that the amount of contactless shopping made with mobile devices since the beginning of this year has exceeded 1.3 billion TL.
